Troubleshooting Your CiLoN Name Tag Designer
Having trouble designing or printing your name tag inserts? Find quick solutions to common issues below.
1. My Printed Name Tags Are Too Large or Too Small
Solution:
Make sure your PDF is printed at 100% (Actual Size).
Select US Letter paper (8.5" × 11").
Disable Fit to Page, Shrink to Fit, and automatic scaling.
Confirm that you selected the correct name tag size in the designer.
Small: 1" × 3"
Large: 1.5" × 3"
Both sizes have the same 3-inch length.
2. My Company Logo Looks Blurry or Pixelated
Solution:
Upload a high-resolution logo whenever possible.
For clearer results, use a quality PNG or SVG file.
Avoid using small, low-resolution images that become blurry when enlarged.
Check your Live Preview before printing.
3. My Logo Background Is Not Transparent
Solution:
In the logo customization settings, select the Transparent Background option.
This feature can help remove plain white or very light backgrounds.
For complex logos, we recommend uploading a PNG file that already has a transparent background.
4. My Printed Colors Look Different from the Screen
Solution:
Colors may vary between monitors and printers.
Differences can result from printer settings, ink, paper type, or printing materials.
For more accurate results:
Use appropriate print-quality settings.
Select the correct paper or film type.
Print a test sheet before printing multiple inserts.
5. My Transparency Sheet Is Smudging
Solution:
Make sure you're using transparency film specifically designed for your printer.
For inkjet printers, print on the designated coated side and allow sufficient drying time.
For laser printers, use only laser-compatible transparency film approved by the manufacturer.
Never use ordinary plastic sheets in a laser printer.
6. My Name Tag Inserts Do Not Fit the Holders
Solution:
First, confirm that you selected the correct badge size.
Print at 100% scale and carefully follow the cutting boundaries.
Use sharp scissors or a paper trimmer for precise cutting.
We recommend cutting and testing one insert before cutting the entire sheet.
7. The Designer Is Difficult to Use on My Phone
Solution:
For the best experience, we highly recommend using a desktop computer or laptop.
The larger screen makes it easier to adjust logos, text, colors, layouts, and previews.
Mobile devices can also be used, but smaller screens may make certain controls harder to navigate.
8. My Name Tags Look Different in the Printed PDF
Solution:
Before printing, carefully review the final PDF.
Confirm that the correct badge size, logo position, font sizes, and colors are displayed.
Remember that printed colors may differ from screen previews.
Always print one test sheet before producing multiple inserts.
